Hull SC endured a difficult away league fixture at Aldbrough United AFC, with Daniel Laughton’s brace and John Longthorn’s goal not enough to prevent defeat.
Hull Sporting Club suffered a difficult afternoon away from home, falling to an 8-3 defeat against Aldbrough United AFC in the East Riding County League Division 4.
The home side started strongly and opened the scoring in the 9th minute through Liam Foston, giving Hull SC an early setback to respond to.
The Reds found a way back into the match in the 21st minute, with Daniel Laughton scoring to bring Hull SC level and restore some momentum.
Aldbrough regained control before half-time. Dylan Revell scored in the 33rd minute before adding another in the 44th, leaving Hull SC with work to do after the break.
The second half began with another Aldbrough goal, as Foston struck again in the 48th minute to extend the home side’s advantage.
Hull SC responded quickly through John Longthorn in the 50th minute, reducing the deficit and giving the Reds a route back into the contest.
But Aldbrough continued to punish Hull SC’s mistakes. Foston completed his hat-trick in the 63rd minute before Samuel Barley scored in the 75th to put the home side firmly in control.

Foston added his fourth in the 81st minute, making it a dominant attacking display from the hosts.
Hull SC kept going and Laughton scored his second of the match in the 87th minute, showing commitment despite the difficult scoreline.
Aldbrough added one final goal in the 90th minute through Barley, sealing a heavy defeat for Hull SC.
For the Reds, it was a disappointing result and one that will require a strong response. The goals from Laughton and Longthorn were positive moments, but the overall performance showed areas that must be improved quickly.
The focus now turns to accountability, reaction and making sure the group learns from a difficult afternoon.
