Sam O’Malley, Jacob Bennett and Callum Bamforth all scored twice as Hull SC claimed a commanding cup win away at Cross Keys FC.
Hull Sporting Club secured their first cup victory in commanding fashion as the Reds beat Cross Keys FC 6-1 away from home in the East Riding FA County Qualifying Cup.
After the disappointment of their first ever cup match earlier in the season, Hull SC produced a mature and clinical response, controlling large parts of the contest and showing real quality in the final third.
Sam O’Malley opened the scoring in the 29th minute, giving Hull SC the breakthrough after a patient start. The Reds continued to grow into the match and carried that advantage into the second half.
O’Malley struck again in the 52nd minute to double the lead and put Hull SC firmly in control. Just three minutes later, Jacob Bennett added a third, turning the pressure into a strong advantage for the visitors.
Callum Bamforth made it four in the 67th minute as Hull SC continued to punish Cross Keys with sharp attacking play and strong movement across the pitch.
This was a strong cup response from the group. After the disappointment of our first cup match, the players showed maturity, discipline and real quality away from home. Scoring six and progressing is a big step for us.

The home side pulled one back through Owen Fletcher in the 73rd minute, but Hull SC responded with authority rather than allowing the game to shift. Bennett added his second in the 82nd minute before Bamforth completed his own brace three minutes later.
Three Hull SC players finishing with two goals each underlined the attacking depth within the squad. O’Malley, Bennett and Bamforth all made important contributions, while the team’s control and discipline away from home gave the performance a professional edge.
The result was more than just a strong win. It marked an important cup milestone for Hull Sporting Club, giving the Reds their first cup victory and a place in the next round.
For the squad, it was another sign of progress and another step forward in a season where the group continues to build confidence, standards and momentum.
