Hull SC struck early through Joel Hunter and added further goals from Sam O’Malley, Callum Bamforth, Jacob Bennett and Daniel Laughton to secure a commanding 5-1 win over Brandesburton AFC.

Hull Sporting Club produced a commanding away performance to beat Brandesburton AFC 5-1 in the East Riding FA County Qualifying Cup quarter-final at Malet Lambert 4G.

The Reds made the perfect start, with Joel Hunter opening the scoring in the 5th minute to give Hull SC early control of the tie.

Hull SC continued to build momentum and doubled their advantage in the 29th minute through Sam O’Malley, putting the visitors in a strong position before half-time.

The second half started in similar fashion, with Callum Bamforth finding the net in the 48th minute to make it 3-0 and give Hull SC further breathing room.

Brandesburton AFC pulled one back in the 61st minute through Christian Martinez, giving the home side a route back into the contest.

But Hull SC responded with maturity. Rather than allowing the momentum to shift, the Reds stayed composed and continued to manage the game with control.

This was a strong cup performance from the group. We started well, stayed focused after they pulled one back, and showed good control in the second half. To score five away from home and progress is a very positive step.

Jacob Bennett restored the three-goal advantage in the 70th minute, finishing an important fourth goal to settle the match and put Hull SC firmly back in command.

Daniel Laughton added the fifth in the 77th minute, completing a strong attacking performance and sealing Hull SC’s place in the next round.

The performance showed Hull SC’s ability to start quickly, control key moments and respond when tested. After Brandesburton reduced the deficit, the Reds answered with two more goals and finished the match with authority.

Five different goalscorers underlined the attacking depth within the squad, while the team’s control after half-time gave the performance a professional edge.

For Hull SC, it was another important cup result and another sign of the group’s growing confidence, standards and ability to deliver away from home.
