The home side made the stronger start and opened the scoring in the 6th minute through Harvey Sykes-Cook, giving Hull SC an early setback to respond to.
Hull SC worked their way into the contest and found their equaliser in the 21st minute through Aaron Gouldthorpe, who finished well to bring the Reds level.
Market Weighton regained the lead before half-time, with Sykes-Cook scoring his second of the match in the 40th minute to send the hosts into the break ahead.
After the restart, Hull SC had to stay patient and keep pushing for a way back into the game. The Reds continued to search for control while looking for the moment that would bring them level again.
That moment arrived in the 79th minute, when Gouldthorpe struck for the second time to equalise and give Hull SC a route back into the match.
