Hull SC recovered from a first-half setback against Anlaby Rangers, with David Blake’s second-half double and Jacob Bennett’s late goal sealing a strong home win.
Hull Sporting Club continued their league campaign with a strong 3-1 victory over Anlaby Rangers at Pelican Park Playing Fields.
The visitors struck first in the 18th minute through Leo Gibson, giving Hull SC an early challenge and forcing the Reds to respond after falling behind.
Hull SC had to stay patient after the setback, working their way back into the contest and looking for the moment that would shift the momentum.
That moment arrived shortly after half-time, with David Blake finding the net in the 49th minute to bring Hull SC level and give the home side renewed belief.
The equaliser changed the rhythm of the match. Hull SC grew in confidence, kept pushing forward and began to take greater control of the game.
Blake struck again in the 73rd minute, completing the turnaround and putting Hull SC ahead after a strong spell of second-half pressure.

With the lead secured, the Reds managed the closing stages well and continued to carry a threat going forward.
Jacob Bennett sealed the result in the 86th minute, adding Hull SC’s third goal and giving the team breathing room late in the match.
